Control Box Depth Options | 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 mm | Custom Sizes | JDF-FA
Control Box Depth Options:
JDF-FA control boxes are available in four standard effective mounting depths: 80mm, 130mm, 180mm, and 230mm. The depth can be further extended in 50mm increments up to 430mm, providing flexible configuration for different internal component layouts.
The box features an aluminum alloy 6063 frame and handle, with die-cast aluminum alloy 102 corner parts. The standard surface finish is anodized (natural color). The protection grade is IP54, suitable for industrial environments.
Customization: Maximum front panel width 700mm, maximum front panel height 800mm.
Selection Method:
Step 1: Select the box depth and size based on the dimensions of the internal components.
Step 2: Determine the effective front panel size based on the display screen dimensions.
Example:
If the control box depth is 130mm, the effective front panel width is 400mm, and the effective front panel height is 300mm, the model number would be:
130 – 400 – 300
(Depth – Width – Height)
If holes need to be drilled on the front or rear panels, please provide the processing size and position drawings.

Depth reference by component type:
| Depth | Suitable Components | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|
| 80mm | Push buttons, indicator lights, small relays | Simple operator panels |
| 100mm | Standard buttons, small PLCs | Basic control panels |
| 130mm | Medium PLCs, contactors, small VFDs | Standard machine control |
| 150mm | VFDs, servo drives, medium PLCs | Machine tools, automation |
| 180mm | Large PLCs, multiple contactors, power supplies | Complex control systems |
| 200mm | Large VFDs, servo systems, industrial PCs | High-performance control |
| 230mm | Multiple drives, large power supplies | High-density control cabinets |
Example: If the thickest component is a 110mm VFD, add 30mm for wiring → 140mm required → select the 150mm depth option.
Optional Components:
Double box structure (with double box connectors)
Keyboard tray
Selection Note:
Please confirm the internal component dimensions before choosing the box depth. For custom panel drilling, provide processing drawings. Contact us for non-standard sizes or special requirements.

FAQ
Q1: How do I select the correct control box depth?
A: Measure the depth of the thickest electrical component, add 20-30mm for wiring clearance, then select the smallest standard depth that exceeds this value. For example, if the thickest component is 110mm, add 30mm → 140mm required → select 150mm depth.
Q2: What is the difference between 80mm and 100mm depths?
A: 80mm is ultra-slim, suitable only for thin components like push buttons and indicator lights. 100mm is standard slim, accommodating small PLCs and standard buttons. Choose 80mm for simple operator panels; choose 100mm when small logic control is needed.
Q3: What applications are suitable for 130mm and 150mm depths?
A: 130mm is suitable for medium PLCs, contactors, and small VFDs. 150mm is suitable for standard VFDs, servo drives, and medium PLCs. 150mm is the most commonly used depth for machine tool control applications.
Q4: What is the protection class of the control box?
A: Standard rear-opening models are IP54 rated. Higher protection (e.g., IP65) is available on request.
Q5: Can non-standard depths be customized?
A: Yes. JDF offers custom manufacturing for non-standard depths. Custom maximum panel size: 700mm wide × 800mm high.
